STAGES Az angol énekesnő, Melanie C hatodik stúdióalbuma, amely 2012. szeptember 7-én jelent meg a Red Girl Records és az Universal UK gondozásában. A feldolgozásalbum különféle zenés színházi előadások és filmek dalfeldolgozásait tartalmazza, így ez Chisholm első stúdióalbuma, amelyen semmilyen dalhoz nem tartozik szerzői jog. Az albumot egyetlen kislemez, az "I Know Him So Well" feldolgozása kíséri, amelyben szintén angol énekesnő és a Spice Girls tagja, Emma Bunton is közreműködik.

HÁTTÉR

2012. június 25-én hivatalos weboldalán bejelentették, hogy Chisholm éppen a Stages című, közelgő albumának utolsó simításait végzi. A lemezt régóta munkatársa, Peter-John Vettese producálta, és olyan színházi dalokat tartalmaz, amelyek fontosak voltak Chisholm számára élete különböző szakaszaiban.
2012. július 6-án, miután Chisholm és korábbi Spice Girls-beli barátnője, Emma Bunton rejtélyes tweeteket váltott ki, kiderült, hogy a két előadó közösen felvett egy dalt Chisholm készülő albumához. A Chess című musicalből származó "I Know Him So Well" című dal duettként készült volna a két előadó között.
Az album eredeti borítóján Chisholm egy fekete bőrfotelben ülve látható. Az album számlistája mellett 2012. július 21-én mutatták be. Később arról számoltak be, hogy ez a borító csak az album digitális verzióihoz fog szolgálni, és a fizikai kiadásokon egy, a lépcsőn lefelé sétáló Chisholmról készült fénykép szolgál majd képként. Ez utóbbi képet azonban végül mind a fizikai, mind a digitális kiadásokon felhasználták.

KRITIKA

A Daily Express öt csillagból háromra értékelte az albumot. A napilap ezt írta: „Melanie C egy kicsit afféle West End-i Wendyvé vált, ami miatt ez a főként show-zenei feldolgozásokból álló album több mint helyénvaló. Nagyszerű válogatás, de talán a legélvezetesebb pillanat az, amikor Emma Bunton csatlakozik hozzá az Elaine Paige/Barbara Dickson klasszikus, az „I Know Him So Well” című számának feldolgozásán.”

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO LOVE HIM Az angol énekesnő, Melanie C, Mária Magdolna szerepében adta elő az "I Don't Know How to Love Him" című dalt a Jesus Christ Superstar Live Arena turnéján, amelynek első brit turnéja 2012 szeptemberében-októberében volt, és 2012. október 12-én az O2 Dublinban is fellépett. Ezt követően 2013 májusában-júniusában egy ausztrál turnéra, majd 2012 októberében egy ráadásként az Egyesült Királyságban is előadták. Melanie C 2012. július 25-én debütált az "I Don't Know How to Love Him" című dalával, amikor Andrew Lloyd Webber zongorakíséretére énekelte a dalt az ITV által sugárzott Superstar című valóságshow döntőjében. Az Adelaide Now a ...Live Arena Tour 2012. június 4-i, az Adelaide Entertainment Centre-ben tartott fellépéséről szóló kritikájában ezt állította: „Melanie C teljesen elsütötte a nagy számát, az 'I Don't Know How to Love Him'-et, nyersebb rockélt adva a hídnak, mielőtt egyenesen az arénából ütné meg az utolsó nagy hangokat.”

I KNOW HIM SO WELL A dalt az angol lemezfelvevő előadó, Melanie C is feldolgozta. A dal volt az első kislemez, amely Melanie C zenés színház ihlette és hatodik stúdióalbumáról, a Stages-ről származik. A dal egy duett Melanie C Spice Girls-tagjával, Emma Buntonnal. A dal kislemezként 2012. november 11-én jelent meg. A kislemez B-oldala a Carousel című musicalből származó "You'll Never Walk Alone" című dal feldolgozása.
